40k 6th ed Lexicon v1.1

Lexicon Tuesday.  There's great deal of information about 40k all over the web.  Many of them use short hand to communicate their message.  I'm compiling a lexicon to help me decipher what they mean.  Warseer is great that it has the terms linked to what they can mean.  I endeavour to copy their method in the future.  In the mean time I hope you learn as much as I do if not more.

Starting off from last nights work.

Eldar Vipers are done.  Was going to start Eldar Jetbikes they weren't basecoated.  Will basecoat them tonight.  Figured I'd start War Walkers.

Good buddy Bryan finally has some free time.  Work has been scheduling him a lot.  He doesn't like it.  I wouldn't like it either if I had his gig.

Figured instead of spam you all with updates of the same model you just saw I would make one post with everything from beginning to end.  Took about 5.5hrs to paint.  Quicker than the first Wave Serpent.

12.7.22 Eldar Vipers

Finished the second Wave Serpent today.  Figured since I still had almost 40mins on the clock I would start the Vipers.

12.7.18 1500 Necrons vs Chaos Daemons

Time for another battle with Shawn.  Never had games with Shawn so frequent.  Turns out he's on Vacation so he has time for this stuff.

12.7.17 Wave Serpent [Updated 12.8.12]

Put another 4.5 hrs into the Wave Serpent up to 5 hrs right now.  Should finish it the next serious session I have.  Won't be tonight.  Shawn and I are rolling some bones to the tune of 1500 pts tonight.  I've never played a game with that few of points.

First BatRep, battle report, of 6th ed.  Yeah, my Necrons are fighting daemons again.  This time it's Shawn's daemons not Bryans.

That's right one Wraith vs two Plague Bearers, five slaanesh steeds and Skarbrand.  I feel great!

Yes, you!  You have been playing 40k or Fantasy for a week or a month, hell even like me since 91'.

You are the Inspiration.

You're at a FLGS, Friendly Local Gaming Store, or at a buddies place, even your own, and there's a new gamer to 40k or Fantasy.  They look at your models and marvel at your work.  Poor or Great.  Clean or ugly.  A new player is amazed at your work.  You are the inspiration for them for the game, modelling or painting!

12.7.12 Wave Serpent 1 of 2

Done with the first Eldar vehicle.  Had a choice:  call it a night and blog or jump right into the next model.  Tallarns voice went through my head.  " [sic] Model, paint, game then blog.  You can mix up the first three however you want make sure blog is always last.  Never lose sight of the goal."  So I followed the advice and grabbed the next vehicle.  Wave Serpent.  Shawn has two of these.  I don't have any.  This is the model that is stopping me from playing my Eldar again.  I have A Lot of Eldar.  I certainly don't want to buy models just to play them again.

First of many Eldar to paint: Eldar Fire Prism

Very proud of myself.  Didn't succumb the gentle, seductive arms of Morpheus.  Started a little bit later than I wanted on my first commission model.  Hell, getting an army out of painting an army for an awesome buddy of mine Shawn is one hell of a motivator.  Dylan, buddy from work, said he has faith in me.  As he said about my painting models "you're a machine."  Though not much of a machine lately.  Damn you pesky undesired naps.  I'll get you yet.  /shakes fist

7.2 Canoptek Spyders

Damn.  Last time I worked on these guys was a week ago 6.21.  Feel like I'm getting back into my rhythm.  Perhaps my crazy naps are going away.  Then I focus on getting my 40k modelling/painting act together.

Introducing Silver Gargoyle Productions

Thought my first commission job would be a Land Raider I would paint in Deathwing colours and ebay it.  As they say "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans."

A 40k buddy had a thought of me painting a couple of his models.  That is what he told me yesterday on the phone.  So I met him at Fantasy Flight to talk about the couple of models he wants me to paint.  Turns out he wants me to paint his Eldar.  Not a couple of models but about 3000 pts of Eldar.
