Forgeworld Kaela Mensha Khaine Completed

Finally this beautiful model is done and ready to be returned to Shawn's hands.  He's seen it several times during its production.  I'm looking forward to seeing his face when I hand it back tonight.
Trying out something new with line highlighting.  Worked out surprisingly well.

JJ painting,

Decided not to put anymore work into the hands earlier because I remembered Khaine is the Bloody-Handed god.

Scab Red for drying blood.  Blood oxidizes to a brown.

Not using the wet pallet for the hand because the constantly flowing blood will eventually build up on the surface.

Glossy Varnish for the blood to get that wet look.

Blood on the sword where the right hand held it.

So close to being done with this model.  Spirit Stone Caledor Sky.

Since Shawn wants this guys to look great decided to break tradition and paint them like normal spirit stones.  Reaper Master paints Surf Aqua for bottom part of the shine.

Army Painter Mat White for high part of shine.

Critique away.

  2. That came out rather well. The air brush transitions are really nice and smooth too. Nice touch with the ashen soil around his feet. Hawt stuff! Comin' through!

    1. Thanks. Didn't even consider that, Zab. The transitions worked out well. Now that you said it I'm remembering a lot of airbrushing transitions that aren't smooth. Stealing your line regarding ashen soil. Quite poetic.
