Blood Angels Death Company Chaplain part 3

Back to this awesome guy.  After todays session I looked at him and said "Damn! I love him."  What a beautiful model.

Chains, studs, metal parts on Crozius Arcanum and combi-flamer Leadbelcher.  Grip on combi-flamer Scab Red.

JJ painting,

Blood drop and low highlight Scab Red.

Time for some magic.  And magic it was.  Ironbreaker highlights on Leadbelcher.  Evil Sunz Scarlet highlight on Scab Red.

This is where he really pops and my work turned to love.  With some pieces this happens.  I'm working on a piece til something occurs and a switch is flipped.  Before this the model was just a model.  This step it graduated from model to love.  Handle of Crozius Arcanum Dark Flesh.  Key parts Auric Armour Gold.  Further highlight on combi-flamer handle Blazing Orange.

Next majour session with this guy and he should be done.  Unfortunately that session is many days away.  Creating my commission website with my Love over the next two weeks.  CONvergence season is ramping up into high gear which means less time at home.  Other projects that have been on the back burner for too long.  Thank goodness for being able to schedule posts.  Have about two weeks of posts scheduled.

    3. Yeah, its great paint on some surfaces. Most of the time its a disappointment. Needs a wash or two with some highlight to really make it work. However must be the surrounding colours that makes the gold pop without further work.

  2. Wow, yeah, that gold, even as it is, makes the rest of the model pop. Great work.

    1. Thanks, Evan. Considered leaving the gold as it is. Then thought 'nah, it can look better.'

  3. That looks fantastic! I always find there's a point in the process where I think "this just looks terrible, what am I doing?", then a few steps later it all comes together and starts to look good again.

Love how the scrollwork turned out, that's particularly awesome. Keep up the great work, mate!

    1. Thanks, Mordian7th. I experience that a lot.

Tallarn is quite pleased regarding the scrollwork. Need to find the time for this model. Want to get it to him so he can use this beat stick on the table.

  4. No worries, he is for a tournament in September so there is no rush! Take time on the website and let me know when you need the next set of art done.

That guy is looking beautiful, that particular Chaplain was definitely the right choice, very dynamic pose and very intimidating. The paint is coming together beautifully and I look forward to letting him loose on the battlefield!

Thanks for the compliment. You'll have to let me know how he does on the field.
