6th ed Rules of the Game: Preferred Enemy, Gets Hot Without To Hit Roll and Cleansing Flame

Here are several rules from last game.

JJ typing, Preferred Enemy, 40k6 pg 40

A unit that contains at least one model with this special rule re-rolls all failed To Hit and To Wound rolls of 1 if attacking its Preferred Enemy.  This applies to both shooting and close combat attacks

Context: Purifiers were shooting at Obliterators.  Opponent thought it was for close combat only.  Informed for shooting and assault.

Gets Hot, Gets Hot and Weapons that Do Not Roll To Hit, 40k6 pg 37

Weapons that do not roll To Hit (such as Blast weapons) must roll a D6 for each shot immediately before firing.

Context:  Obliterators fired Plasma cannons.  Since I'm going through my fourth reading of the corebook wanted to talk this through with Bryan.  You know mnemonics.

Cleansing Flame, Grey Knights 5th ed pg 31 (here's a two-fer)

If the Psychic test is passed, all enemy models that are part of the same assault suffer one wound on a 4+.  Armour saves can be taken as normal.

First Context: Bryan wanted to know if Cleansing Flame had AP.  Informed him it doesn't.  He was able to take saves on his zombies instead of just Feel No Pain.

Second Context: Plague Marines charged a single Purifier that was in assault with zombies from previous turn.  Remembered too late that all enemy models in the same assault are wounded on a 4+.  Thought only the unit that was in assault with the Purifier squad could be hit by Cleansing Flame.  Two Purifier units were in assault with Plague Marines and zombies.  Should've rolled Cleansing Flame twice for both units.
