6th ed Rules of the Game: Power of the Machine Spirit and Power Fist Specialist Weapon

Here are two more rules from last game.

JJ typing,

Power of the Machine Spirit, 40k6 pg 40.

In a turn in which the vehicle neither moves Flat Out nor uses smoke launchers, the vehicle can fire one more weapon at its full Ballistic Skill than normally permitted.

Context: Opponents Land Raider Crusader moved 12" which normally weapons would snap fire.  He wanted to shoot Multi-melta.  Wasn't sure if it was snap fire or full BS.  He reminded me PotMS shoots at full BS if vehicle moves 12".

Power Fist, 40k6 pg 60

Type: Melee, Specialist Weapon, Unwieldy

Specialist Weapon, 40k6 pg 42

A model fighting with this weapon does not receive +1 Attack for fighting with two weapons unless both weapons have the Specialist Weapon rule.

Context: Opponent had a Templar with Power fist.was going to roll 3 dice to attack because it also had a bolt pistol.  Informed Power fist is a specialist weapon can don't gain extra dice because of extra close combat weapons.

  1. Wait (and forgive my excitement), does that mean Power of the Machine Spirit no longer allows the model to shoot at a different target than the rest of its weapons?

Did I misread the old rule, that PotMS allowed a Land Raider/Stormraven to fire one weapon at full BS at any target, regardless of how fast it moved or what other target it fired at?

Either way, any change makes me incredibly happy!

    1. Noah, welcome to H2Lat40k. It can still fire at a different target than the rest of the model. Did not lose that ability. You read the olde rule correctly.
