How to Use Squadron Putty, Yuletide Cheer!

Merry pre-boxing day, 40k'ers.  Last year this time I was working on my Purifiers.

JJ typing, this is one of the two things Andrew told me about at Renegade Open GT back in Nov.  There's another one.  Need to work with it before making a post.

Say you're a bit too over-zealous when it comes to pinning like I am.  You end up punching a hole through plastic.  Now you have a problem.  You can't give the commission model back to the person paying you with a hole in it.  Eventually they'll find out.

So you do the responsible thing and want to correct the mistake.  You can use liquid green stuff or normal green stuff or you can follow a suggestion from someone who recently dropped a lot of painting and modelling knowledge on your ass.  Introducing Squadron Putty!  Really its White Putty made by Squadron, hence the name.

These guys are the answer to all my green stuff modelling.  They are not the answer to Squadron Putty.  The nylon head doesn't work with the putty.

Now your fingers or other modelling tools are perfect.  Thanks, Andrew.

Hole has been filled however bit of a problem with too much putty possibly affecting surrounding area.  After a little filing it looks better.  Should've followed Andrew's suggestion and use high grade sand paper to make it smooth.  Squadron putty dries very quickly.

Looking better.  Still a little noticeable.

Picked up Squadron Putty at Hub Hobby Little Canada, MN in the paint isle.

Hopefully you have a great time with loved ones.  If you wanted presents hope you received them.

    1. LT, we are thinking the same. That's why I was thinking high grade sand paper to smooth it out. Not sure another coat of paint would help. No reason to not give it a try.

  3. So, um... what exactly does the SuicideGIrls model have to do with Eldar warmachines and modeling putty?

    1. Figured it being christmas I would put a themed pick up. Snow cone seemed fitting because there's usually snow on christmas.

    2. Wouldn't a picture of Santa Claus or, I dunno, _snow_ be a bit more on point than a pic from a pornographic photo shoot? I mean, I don't mean to sound like a prude here, but it just seems waaay out of context.
