The Eldar Army That Needs a Lot of Love part 2

Looks like I forgot to post pics from the last time this army was on my table.

Assembling some wraithblades.

JJ modelling, this is an Eldar army commission for Bryan.

Every time I put these guys together I come up with better ways to assemble them.  Finally occurred to me to glue the legs to the bases and let them cure while assembling the rest of the wraithblades.

If I ever put these guys together again it'll be too soon.  So many little pieces.  At this point I'd die to glue a space marine together.

Pics of the army.

Oh, that's right, there are twenty more of these to assemble.  Anyone have a gun?  Good news only one of these boxes are those horrible wraithblades.  Others are wraithguard with wraithcannons and d-scythes.  Putting together these wraithblades and a previous commission has permanently turned me off from them.  When I start putting mine together guns it is.  None of these tiny bits of axes.

Since I'll be going into painting mode soon.  It is time to fix two models that have really been bothering me.  First is this harlequin troupe master.  Whoever had these Eldar before decided to glue the clown's feet to the rocks instead of the ribbon coming from the jacket.  Quite frustrating.  Was just going to paint it that way however I finally caved and decided to fix this guy.  Now to do it without damaging any of the cancer-cast.

He clearly has not had his V-8.

Turned out to be surprisingly easy.  Used a short flat modelling blade and pried between his feet and rocks and he popped right off.  Then a little bit of cleaning up some flash and he was ready to be attached to the base.

Pinning comes into play.

Much better!

Now Jain Zar.  She's missing her right hand and triskele.  Man this army needs a lot of love.  Told Bryan about it and shared my plan.  He said it should work.

Used a Dark Eldar bit.  Took longer than expected to find a right hand holding a dagger in my Dark Eldar bit box.

Some careful modelling knife work and a clean cut provided the bit to get Jain Zar her right hand.

Some gentle drilling for pinning.

And on her right forearm.

Then a pin.

Cut the pin down to fit the Dark Eldar right hand snug and...

it works!  Turned out ok in my opinion.

    1. Thanks! Thought it was going to be far harder than it was.
