Ebay Eldar Wraithknight Completed

This was a fun model to put together and paint.  Surprisingly quick.  Was little longer than the Crimson Hunter.  Faster than I expected.

JJ painting, its done.  Back to my usual painting regime.  Finish Tallarn's Death Company Chaplain and clear my plate of Shawn's Eldar.  Want to start July with as clean of a slate as possible should people want me to start painting their models.  Having terribly good vibes.

Yes those arms and weapons move around.

Critique away.

  1. I absolutely love how the knight turned out! The stars are beautifully done, and the edge highlighting on the black against the gradient blue looks great!

I do think it's let down just a little bit by the base however - If I could make a suggestion, I think the ballast that you've added needs to be painted a complimentary color, or if you want to go with the white base, it ought to be painted and hightlighted white. The black base showing through under the white makes it look like "rocks glued to the base" rather than terrain the miniature is standing in, to me. I personally find that unless the talus and debris is painted and highlighted in 'miniature scale', it tends to look jarring and out of scale when contrasted against the model on the base.

Just my 2 cents, I have nothing but praise for the Wraithknight itself, that is absolutely gorgeous! Great use of color, and the build is fantastic - I wish I had the foresight to have magnetized mine.

Keep up the great work, mate!

    1. Mordian7th, thanks for the compliments.

Completely agree regarding the basing. Something about it just didn't look right. Great suggestion with the base.

  2. Basing becomes it own thing in and of itself. A lot can be done with the Airbrush though ;) NOW: Holy crap! All the options are magnetized and movable?! On top of that nice paint job?! Holy crap!

    1. Damn, Zab. Thanks for the praise. Yeah. As you can see no strings or fingers holding parts together. I wanted to keep the poseable arms and magnetized weapons a secret before the eBay reveal.
