How to Make a Loin Clothe for Eldar Dreadknight

Remember you need at least 8 pieces of flair.  Want to add some flair to your gigantic Eldar wraithbone constructs?  Perhaps this will be a source of inspiration.

JJ modelling,
Shawn handed me his Eldar dreadknight to paint.  Then it occurs to me: what better way to capture the fluid motion of its attack than clothe billowing in the wind desperately hoping to catch up and not be left behind?  Told Shawn I have an idea for his dreadknight and he'll love it.  Didn't tell him what it was so it would be a surprise.  He gave me the green light.  This was the process of making it.  It was far easily than expected.  Piece of plasticard or sheet styrene, what we call it in the states, and modelling knife.

Marking the cloth.

Little more marking and we are ready.  Don't know why I thought this was going to be tremendously difficult.

With plasticard/sheet styrene you don't have to cut through the material.  Just score it and fold.  Snaps clean.

For this idea I had a heat gun with tongs and an elaborate set up in my mind.  Nope some good olde fashion finger flexing.  Bending it this way and that to get exactly I imagined.  Would go into more detail however I'm taking Zab's advice.  Not describing every detail and keeping some of my secrets.  You know keeping the work 'magic.'

Airbrushed Surf Aqua.  Damn that is a beautiful blue.  Thanks, Shawn.

Caliban Green for Shawn's Eldar Craftworld.  Inversed to his liking.

    1. Thanks, Zab. hahaha, actually no need to buy a heat gun. It would've been overkill. Just finger strength it.

  3. I like little tutorials like this. I like plasticard way more than greenstuff. I will have to try this out for my Titans when I get them.
