Tips for Painting Magnetized Weapons [Updated]

Say you're tired of using poster tac to secure weapons that fall out of their moorings while being painted.  Plus you might want to flip the weapons upside down to paint those pesky places paint doesn't like to go.  Here's a suggestion.

JJ painting,

Didn't want the poster tac covering up the bottom of the weapons like the Wraithknight.  Wanted the paint to get in nice and close.  It occurred to me.  Weapons are magnetized, I can put them on something metal and hold that while painting them.  What is metal, easily available and cooperates with magnets?  Butterknife!

Introducing, flatware.  The MVP of this painting tip.  Flatware, take a bow.

Flip the blade to paint that pesky angle.

Great thing about using a butterknife is that you don't have to put on gloves when airbrushing.

All bulbs painted Caledor Sky.

Complete post.

Well damnit you now have a dirty butterknife.  Certainly don't want to be purposely introducing any (potential) carcinogens into your body.  What do you do?  While cleaning your airbrush clean the butterknife.

Most of the way through your airbrush cleaning time to take care of that muddied up butterknife.

While using airbrush remover wipe the blade clean so it shines line never before.  Then of course put it through a standard dish washing to make sure the remover is off the soon-to-be-used-butterknife.

Hope you enjoyed this post!

    1. Damned funny, The Ascended Host. Great name by the way. Actually didn't finish the post. There's supposed to be a pick of airbrush remover and a clean butterknife. Hence placeholder. WIll update later.
