Dire Avengers Complete Plus

Here's one of the Dire Avengers with far more detail.

JJ painting, love this.  Toni is challenging me as a painter and has me questioning my painting levels.  This pleases me greatly.  Also he has me thinking I don't have to settle, I can push myself further.  He definitely knows what he's looking for in his models.  I imagine it will take a couple of squads before I learn his eye.

Two quick things.  First naps are the work of the devil.  Second my bed is pure unadulterated evil.

Thanks, Toni.

  2. The white face, while simple, I think makes the biggest difference. The other updates are great, but that white (and on the crest) I think are the best parts. Look great.

    1. Yeah, Toni suggested to white face plate. Which i was apprehensive about at first. Actually built up the face plate to white. Well technically blue/white. It does look great. Like usual when I paint, didn't have any idea to do anything with the hair. Went by feel and hair turned out pretty nice. Also built it up to white.

    1. Thanks, Henry. I've always seen this detail on troops and knew I could do it. Just never applied to troop model before. Feels weird having such a detailed model that is troop. I imagine the squad will look awesome when all detailed.

  4. Nice way to add definition to the mini while still keeping it dark and menacing.

    1. Zab, excellent eye. Wanted to keep the dark theme without it turning into 'taste-the-rainbow-normal-eldar-theme'. That is exactly what I wanted to do.

    1. Thanks, buddy. Yeah, entire army is painted up in that type of theme. Except for characters and vehicles will have space scenes.
