Like the Guard Squads, these are painted well. Still can't fault the camo or two colour shoulders. Unlike the guardsmen, I got a good look at how you've painted the face on the sergeant and I have to say I really like it. Though not as heavily detailed as some paint skin and hair, what you've done looks better.
Very detailed faces tend to look like Picasso's upon closer inspection. Like a made up woman, who looks gorgeous, then you see her in HD and "YIIIIKES!"
Definitely a good three color paintjob. I think it's important to reiterate that in the article sometimes. It must be hard to control yourself to only paint what the client asked for. Definitely makes you a true commission painter! I'd screw myself over and start working well beyond the requirements and burn myself out!
Agreed, as you may remember that is something I was doing with posts. Never got in the habit.
You are right. It does get a little difficult to hold yourself back when painting. The more I commission paint the easier it is to avoid temptation. Hopefully sooner than later I won't have to think about at all.

Thanks. Yeah this is a three colour minimum paint job. If it was the next level I'd wash the skin and do some highlights making them pop further.
DeleteExcellent example about gorgeous women exposed to HD.
Coming along nicely man!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mordian7th.
