JJ painting, can feel it coming. Once again, just like last year. The painting machine wakening. It pleases me.

Shawn had this idea. He thought it would look good. I couldn't visualize it. He wanted the stipple pattern from his skimmers on the vanes. I think they turned out ok. Right now I have no feeling either way. Kind of worried about how bulbs painted will affect it. |

That's definitely an unusual secondary color choice against the teal. I'm thinking that doing the gemstone bumps on both the vanes and the main body in a complimentary color may help tie it all back together. I'd suggest red or orange personally, rather than the blue that you have on the lower legs currently. Of course, if you're matching an existing scheme for someone else you're naturally constrained to their color selections.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely digging on the sword, and the blue and silver wraithstone on the back looks fantastic as well! Looking forward to seeing more!
Wouldn't have thought of complementary colour of red or orange with green in attempt to tie it back to the teal. Nice call. Think I'll contact Shawn and ask him what he thinks about blue bulbs on the vanes.
DeleteThanks for the compliment on the sword.
"Blue and green are never seen". I think you've lost the green in this case. Perhaps do the same stippling (which itself looks awesome) but do it in red or orange maybe? Or on a piece of paper first then see how it looks together
ReplyDeleteThanks, DimmyK. Not a bad idea testing stippling red or orange on green before applying it on a model. Normally I just dive in, rarely looking back.
DeleteNever ever ever just dive in. Unfortunately I learned that the hard way!
DeleteLove the green but just unsure of the whole combo. Sure it will come together in the end though!
ReplyDeleteShawn and I are hoping so. He's not sure about it either. He agreed with me to give it a try on a couple of bulbs to see how it works.
