6th ed Rules of the Game: Shroud and Challenge

Learned a couple more things from last Fridays battle and todays research.

Shroud 40k6 pg 41

A unit that contains at least one model with this special rule counts its cover save as being 2 points better than normal.  Notw that this means a model with the Shrouded special rule always has cover save of at least 5+, even if its in the open.

Context: Night Fight was in effect in 3k battle.  It was determined because the squad would not receive cover because of the blast.  Template weapons have the Ingore Cover special rule 40k6 pg 52.  Not blast.  The squad would've received a 5+ cover save due to Night Fight Shroud.


Issuing a Challenge 40k6 p 64

Only one challenge can be issues per close combat - the side whose tern it is has the opportunity to issue a challenge first.  If that side chooses not to, then th other side can issue a challenge.

Context: In 3k battle last Fri a character didn't issue a challenge in close combat.  Bryan said his character issues the challenge even though his squad was being assaulted.  I was mistaken that only the squad the assaulted can issue a challenge.  Good thing to know for the future.
