6th ed Rules of the Game: Psychic Power Edition requesting feedback

40k'ers I have a couple 6th ed Rules I would like your feedback on.  I have my own opinion regarding these two rules questions, looking for others opinion.  Thank you in advance.

Grey Knights Psyflemen part 4

After starting some of Shawn's Eldar worked my Psyflemen further.  Need to have them completed for Dark Star March 16th and 17th.  All other models are pushed to the back burner til my Grey Knights are finished.

Finally painting these guys.  So excited.  I think they will go by fast.

First problem I saw airbrushing them.  Messing up my awesome base.  Lucky me they weren't really glued to their base.  After 11 Purifiers coming free from their base I was very surprised these could be removed so easily.

Breaking Citadel/GW Paint (Airbrushing)

After a lot of frustration and research I'm glad to say I've found a reliable and easy way to use GW paints for airbrushing.

To be fair the title is a bit misleading.  The paints weren't broken perse just figured out how to use them with an airbrush.

How to Paint Power Weapons a.k.a. Reinventing the Wheel [Update]

Updated with better painted swords.  When I saw the Nemesis Greatsword in the Grey Knights codex I was in awe.  If you were like me you wanted the same effect on your power weapons.

Here are several ways to paint power weapons.

*Note: Stipple, Drybrush and painted versions will be redone.  Frankly they are disappointing.
**Above power swords on left are redone and much better.  I should do a blooper reel blog post someday.

Finally after 21 parts these guys are complete!  Can stick a fork in them.

Painting the halberds turned out much better than expected.

6th ed Rules of the Game: Slow and Purposeful, Psychic Powers; Declare Target, Blast Marker and Challenges

Here are rules that came up during Tues nights game.

I love Typhus.  Best Chaos Space Marine HQ in my opinion.  Really it's the model.  The model is badass.  Oh, if you have the chance ask Bryan about his Typhus.

Still fumbling with the airbrush

With Purifiers effectively done time to work with my airbrush.  Wanted to cover the Psyflemen and Rhino's in the same colour.  I now I have a colour for my Grey Knights.  Gods I only hope someone picks something up from this so they don't make the same mistakes I did.  I intend to break the GW paint thinning process for airbrushing.  So far it is a tough cookie.

A lot of airbrushers thin their GW paints with Windex.  This was a colossal failure the first time because I wasn't taking a moment to think.  Now that I've found my thinking cap I'm ready to get to business.

13.1.22 1850 Eldar vs Chaos Space Marines

Two weeks in a row of playing 40k with Bryan.  Stars must have aligned.

Grey Knights Purifiers part 20, one more part and these boys are done!

Damn it feels great to be effectively done with these guys.  I say effectively because I only have the halberds left to do but want to practice more before taking that step.

Last bit of accenting.  Liche Purple on all swords/crosses.  Several weeks when painting these I sent pics to Bryan to get his opinion.  He asked "No purple?  All your models have purple on them."  Wasn't my plan but hey who am I to break tradition.

#Ingress I'm in! [Update] I have an activation code for one of you.

Terribly excited!  I've been working at getting an Ingress beta invite for about a month now.

Looks like I was in as of Thurs not Sat.  Could've been playing this game far sooner.

Grey Knights Purifiers part 19 Finally done with grey!

Damn it feels good to be done with painting the armour.  It was a huge mistake.  I'll say rookie mistake painting armour last.  Never again.  No one's more excited that I that these guys are greyed.  Now to do one last touch before putting them aside of the next part of my Grey Knights army.

Painted two last night after getting home from games then beer and BS at Olde Chicago.

6th ed Rules of the Game: Sweeping Advance, Jet Pack Units and Warlock

Repetition and Redundancy: keys to learning.  Covered a couple of things and learned something new.

I've received payment from my second client.  There are very few things that could have made me as happy as I am now.

In many ways I'm feeling the world is before me and ready to give its plentiful bounty.

6th ed Rules of the Game: Correction: Disembarking from Locked Velocity Zooming Flyers

ieuan, had a great question on a recent Rules of the Game post.

"In a recent game we had an issue with troops disembarking from a Storm Raven at locked velocity, not sure if they can or can't."

After a lengthy search I posted an answer.  Incorrect answer by the way.  Thanks to Suijin for catching this.

Grey Knights Purifiers part 14

Had a great day painting.  Painted for 7 hours yesterday.  Looking forward to Sun.  Will start painting armour.

Wasn't sure what to do with the book on the shoulder.  Considered cover Vermin Brown and pages Dheneb Stone.  While going to bed couple of nights ago it hit me.  Burnished Gold with Gryphonne Sepia wash.  Books Auric Armour Gold, new Burnished Gold.

Need some feedback. Re: Purifiers

Perhaps I drank the cool-aid.  Started painting my Purifiers white but it wasn't sitting with me.  Painting them white won't be hard at all.  Actually turning out much easier than I thought.  Also quicker than I thought.

First Impressions of 6th ed Dark Angels Codex & Codex Creep

Love midnight releases of Codexes.  After our game last night we waited for about 5 mins to pick up the latest codex.  Headed over to Grumpy's, sports bar near Fantasy Flight, to BS, talk 40k and oogle our codexes over some fud and drinks.

I won't paint the Belial's face.  Will have it cast in heavy shadows.  Perhaps tip of his nose, some upper lip, more lower lip and chin will be painted.  I'm not a fan of 40k models without helmets.

How to Paint Eyes

First time spending any amount of time painting eyes.  Usually I just paint them Red, Eldar, or Yellow, all other armies.  Decided to break my mold and try something else.

How to Paint Purity Seals

Wanted to put some genuine effort into the Grey Knights Purity Seals.  Noir Engel purity seals are less than.

Just like painting relief.  Paint purity seals so they are pleasing to you.

40k 6th ed Lexicon v1.7

Lexicon Tuesday.  There's a great deal of information about 40k all over the web.  Many of it uses short hand to communicate a message.  I'm compiling a lexicon to help me decipher what it means.  Warseer uses a great system of links to know what it means.  I endeavour to copy their method in the future.  In the mean time I hope you learn as much as I do if not more.

Such a great read.  Pick it up if you get the chance.  Won't be disappointed.

How to Paint Grey Knights Relief

Finally satisfied the itch I've had since seeing words in Grey Knights armour.

This isn't be-all-end-all of painting Grey Knights relief.  Experiment and paint it however you like.  This is how I did it.

Things not to do your first time Airbrushing

Besides the Anon that schooled me on my Harlistar/Invisi-council list last week this is the most foolish I've felt recently.  Figured someone, besides myself, can learn from this.

A lot of people thin paints with Windex.  Airbrush Medium from Blick.  Guy behind the counter wasn't too convincing.  These are two thinners I'll use with Citadel Foundation Knarloc Green.

If you use an airbrush regularly and wish to drop some knowledge.  Please do  If you want to point and laugh, feel free to do so.

Grey Knights Purifiers part 9 (new colour quite excited!)

Happy New Years, 40k'ers.  Looking forward to oogling my Yaya Han calendar this next year.  This is my second year without a H.R. Giger calendar.  Quite upset.  It's worth paying full cost for the calendar and definitely having it before Christmas instead of risk paying half-cost after Christmas and not getting it.  Done with that lame gamble.
