Tips for Painting Crew Members, a How to

Looks like it is going to be a week of "How to's."  Enjoy.

JJ typing, so the warmachine has crew members.  Gluing these guys on then paintint them can be a pain.  Here's something I did recently.

Tools used:

Paint stir stick compliments of one of your DIY stores
Pin vice
Paper clips

Do not attach the hard to paint crew members to their warmachine.  Drill out holes in the paint sticks.  Put paper clips through them.

I've finally broken down.  I've seen modellers do this for a long time and have been extremely resistant.  Drill a hole into bottom of the model.  Preferably a part that will in contact with the surface of the warmachine.

Basecoat.

Add a little colour here...

and a little colour there and you're done.  All that is left to do is affix the freshly painted crew to your warmachine so it can into battle.

  1. I...i haven't been pinning them to the stick. I've been throwing them on double stick tape. This is way better! Thanks so much!

    1. You're welcome. Using pins in a stick occurred to me when I was falling asleep some months ago. Benefit of using a stick is you can flip the models upside down to complete that basecoat. Double sided tape is damn good.
