12.5.27 Realspace Raid: 2500 Dark Eldar vs Chaos Marines

2500 pts Dark Eldar vs Chaos Space Marines.  Guy was going to originally use Chaos Daemons.  Then said as the game started that they don't work against Dark Eldar.  As I mentioned, not in my experience.  I was worried because this is the first game with a new person.  Worried because I might end up not being very friendly.  Should really listen to myself.

5th ed Rules of the Game 5.27 [Update 6.1]

Ran across several other rules today that I thought I understood.  Apparently not.

Example Ordinance weapons can move and shoot.  For some reason I was under the impression if they moved they can't shoot.

12.5.17 2k Noir Engel vs Tyranids

Joe x, one of the cool players and possibly the most fun to play against because he is entertaining and easy going, saw me playing my Dark Eldar, before I decided to finish painting them, and wanted to play me.  Told him yeah, but I wanted a rematch with my Space Noir Engels (lit. trans. Black Angels a.k.a. Dark Angels) army again first.  Well finally had my chance to play his Tyranids again after my humiliating defeat last time.

5th ed Rules of the Game 5.19

You get your big hardcover Rulesbook and study up.  You have read four other editions of this game and you've learn they changed the rules on you.  Like when they had artillery dice.  When you would add d4+d6+d10 to your weapon damage.  When there would be -9 to your armour save.  So you think you have the new rules down and head out to game.  Only for your opponent to bring something up that sounds wacky and implausible.  So you look through the book or as I do hand the book to them to find it.  Yep, they are right and how come you didn't catch that the first time?

12.5.16 2500 Dark Eldar vs Blood Angels

Had the pleasure of using my completely painted Dark Eldar with my second favourite opponent tonight, Connor.  Reason why he is my second favourite is because unlike Shawn, we are all game.  Rarely do we BS.  It's down to business with us.  An added perk is whenever I game with him I always learn something new.  He's a great teacher with plenty of patience and generally an all around great guy.

5th ed Rules of the game 5.16

Hope to make a post after each game regarding a rule or two that I learned.  This is primarily designed to fulfill the triumvirate of learning.  Reading, learning and doing.  That's not the exact three, it's the jist though.

First one is from pg 30 in the Rulebook.  Third paragraph under Blast.

"Next, check if the shot was landed on target.  If the hole at the centre of the marker is beyond the weapon's maximum range, the shot is an automatic miss and the marker is removed."

12.5.9 2k Necrons vs Chaos Daemons

Really wanted to try 2k version of my soon-to-be 2.5k Spyder/Scarab list. Figured with DS (deep striking) CD (Chaos Daemons), Canoptek Spyders generating Canoptek Scarabs and Scarabs taking saves away from daemons it was going to be a fun wrap.  Hell, one of my plans involved 22 Scarabs assaulting a Daemon Prince stripping it of its saves.  Damn it was going to be awesome.  Did you hear that?  I certainly didn't.  Hope you did.  More about that sound later.

You guys threw a party for me?  You shouldn't have.

Finally the other half of my blog.  With my Dark Eldar completely painted it's time to put them on the field and see how the new version of my army works.

Now that I've completely painted my current Dark Eldar army.  Decided to take a break from the pain giver/takers.  Still have six Grotesques and a box of Wracks to do.  Will pick up another box of Wracks then paint all ten at the same time.  Deathwing are on the murder station.  Then work on my current Necron army before getting back to Dark Eldar.

and now for something completely different

Recently completely finished my Dark Eldar army.   Been working on them since Sept 2011.  They are completely painted and based.  Spammed facebook with pics of my WIP (work in progress).  Its the only thing I really used the social website site for.  During the time I had several battles with them at LGS (local gaming store) and put the BatReps (battle report) up there also.
