Exalted Seeker Chariot

Saturday night Shawn bought this and wanted me to put together.  I believe he actually said to his boy "I'm going to have JJ put this together so you guys won't screw it up."

What a chore this model was.  Are looking to be involved, I mean Really Involved, in putting a model together.  That includes removing flash.  Look no further.  Buy this limited edition or two Seeker Chariot/Hellflayer of Slaanesh and enjoy the misery many of us purposely go out of our way to avoid.  Buying two of those are the same cost as buying one limited edition.

That being said.  It is an extremely beautiful model.  I'd say sexy.  Would marry it but I'm afraid of what our children would look like.  Onto the pics!

Eldar Wraithguard Completed

This was a fun squad to paint til I started painting black.  More about that later.

Eldar Wraithguard part 1

Didn't think these guys would be so fun.  So far I am very wrong.

Witchblade, and Singing Spears, and Murekhs! Oh my! Completed

Damn that was a fun squad to paint.  From last night.

Witchblade, and Singing Spears, and Murekhs! Oh my! Part 1

Have to say this is my favourite squad so far to work on so far.  Perhaps because it's breezing by.  Perhaps because I feel there's a synergy to them.  Makes me want to buy a couple more Warlocks and paint up a Farseer with Warlocks.  Seriously this squad is fun.

12.8.15 Swooping Hawks

Last nights work.

12.8.14 Painting Eldrad's Glyph

Here's a post on painting the glyph on the back of Eldrad Ulthran's robe.

12.8.14 Eldar Swooping Hawks

Now that all special characters are done.  Onto Shawn's next priority.  Swooping Hawks.

12.8.14 Eldrad Ulthran

Last where we left off.

Modelling/Painting Space

Here are pics from Oct.  Wow, I've been modelling/painting there for almost 10 months now.

This is where I used to paint.  Six tables.  Four lights.  Can sit six.  Most I saw was five.  Stopped going because people would leave their modelling stuff out or put their army cases all over it.  Instead of stressing about it everytime.  I decided to do something about it.  I can either A) try to change the situation (highly unlikely because there are so many modellers/players that do it or B) change how I react to it.  Which I did.  Then it occurred to me.  I can paint at home.  Then I won't have to pack stuff up, potentially forgetting something, and drive there.  It's not that far away.  Plus can I drink while painting!

Modelling tables at Fantasy Flight.  That is Dave the big chief at Fantasy Flight.

Great news.  Dave, above photo, has added one more table and two more stations.  Looks really good.  Great job, Dave!

This is going to get ugly.  Please don't click on the link to see more.  You don't want to make baby Jesus cry.

40k 6th ed Lexicon v1.2

Lexicon Tuesday.  There's great deal of information about 40k all over the web.  Many of it uses short hand to communicate a message.  I'm compiling a lexicon to help me decipher what they mean.  Warseer is great that it has the terms linked to what they can mean.  I endeavour to copy their method in the future.  In the mean time I hope you learn as much as I do if not more.

Tasha, Suijin, Anon, Spyrle and Vargna have provided entries.  If you'd like to provide some make a comment.  Will update this post and put credit where its deserved.

12.8.12 Eldrad Ulthran

Done with vehicles onto Shawn's next point of priority: characters.

12.8.12 Eldar Falcon and Wave Serpent

Last time on Eldar Falcon and Wave Serpent.

12.8.11 Eldar Falcon & Wave Serpent

Last times pic.

12.8.9 Eldar Falcon & Wave Serpent

Time to let my drug dealer dictate policy.  Sincerely, thank you for letting me blog.  I mean that literally.  Thank you.  I deeply appreciate it.

Last nights work.

12.8.8 Eldar Falcon & Wave Serpent

Last nights work.

Rules of the Game 12.7.24 & 12.8.4

Third and fifth game of 6th ed.  Couple of things to remember for next time.

"No cheating this time.  It's ten steps forward then turn.  Not follow me for ten steps."

12.8.7 Eldar Falcon and Wave Serpent

Last where we left off.

12.8.4 1850 Necrons vs Chaos Daemons a.k.a. Why roll 4 or 5 when all you need is 3?

Fifth game of sixth edition and getting familiar with the rules.

Wraiths personally greet Epidemius on the battle field

12.8.6 Eldar Falcon and Wave Serpent

Once more into the fray
Into the last good fight I'll ever know
Live and die on this day

12.8.5 Kaela Mensha Khaine

Last where we left off with our solo warrior.

6th ed Necron 1850 army list v1.2

Wanted to share some tactics of my army.  a.k.a. bored and trying to occupy my time.

12.8.2 Kaela Mensha Khaine

This is outside of my norm.  I usually paint characters last or first.  There's a priority of painting these models.  Have to let go of my outcome.

First you should know this is a copy.  Saw an excellently painted Avatar over a year ago and was in awe of it.  I want to paint one similarly.  Shawn wants his Avatar and Eldrad to be good.  Going to try something new with this model but not push myself to make it excellent.

Base-coated with Black.

With flash.  Trying something new.

12.8.1 Eldar Wraithlords

These were quicker than I thought.  Now onto the rest of Shawn's priority.

Last nights closing work

12.7.31 Eldar Wraithlords

Finished War Walkers.  Time to start Dreadnoughts.  err Wraithlords.

Shawn started these models awhile ago.  As you can see he already had an idea of what colours he wanted for his Eldar.  Thought about posting these with the Fire Prism to show the inspiration for the Craftworld colours.

12.7.31 Eldar War Walkers Completed

Completed War Walkers tonight.  14.5hrs

Last nights work

12.7.30 Eldar War Walkers

Feels great working on these models so much.  Quite the motivation I'll tell you.

40k 6th ed Lexicon v1.1

Lexicon Tuesday.  There's great deal of information about 40k all over the web.  Many of them use short hand to communicate their message.  I'm compiling a lexicon to help me decipher what they mean.  Warseer is great that it has the terms linked to what they can mean.  I endeavour to copy their method in the future.  In the mean time I hope you learn as much as I do if not more.

Saturdays agenda: Replacing Distributor

Been having a bit of an issue with my car lately.

Similiar to my current ride

Non-40k.  Wanted to post this in hopes of it helping someone someday.

12.7.29 Eldar War Walkers

Starting off from last nights work.

12.7.28 Eldar War Walkers

Eldar Vipers are done.  Was going to start Eldar Jetbikes they weren't basecoated.  Will basecoat them tonight.  Figured I'd start War Walkers.

12.7.28 Eldar Vipers completed

A very productive day.  Quite pleased with myself.  Last where we left off.  Took 8.5hrs.

12.7.26 Eldar Vipers

Last where we left off.

12.7.25 Eldar Vipers K.I.S.S.

Didn't get as much painting as I wanted done tonight.  Had a plan.  Didn't even try the plan.  Will next time I have the chance.  Put 3hrs in tonight.

12.7.24 1850 Necrons vs Chaos Daemons

Good buddy Bryan finally has some free time.  Work has been scheduling him a lot.  He doesn't like it.  I wouldn't like it either if I had his gig.

Top of third H2H

Rules of the Game 12.7.18

Learned a couple more rules during my last game with Shawn.

12.7.19-12.7.22 2 of 2 Wave Serpent completed

Figured instead of spam you all with updates of the same model you just saw I would make one post with everything from beginning to end.  Took about 5.5hrs to paint.  Quicker than the first Wave Serpent.

Enjoy!

12.7.19

12.7.22 Eldar Vipers

Finished the second Wave Serpent today.  Figured since I still had almost 40mins on the clock I would start the Vipers.

12.7.19 Wave Serpent 1 of 2 Completed

First of two, potentially three, Wave Serpents.  It politely lets us know where we left off.

I think its a trap.  It will claw my hand if I try rubbing its belly

12.7.18 1500 Necrons vs Chaos Daemons

Time for another battle with Shawn.  Never had games with Shawn so frequent.  Turns out he's on Vacation so he has time for this stuff.

Wraith "Skarbrand, are those your cheerleaders or mine?  We'll soon find out."

12.7.17 Wave Serpent [Updated 12.8.12]

Put another 4.5 hrs into the Wave Serpent up to 5 hrs right now.  Should finish it the next serious session I have.  Won't be tonight.  Shawn and I are rolling some bones to the tune of 1500 pts tonight.  I've never played a game with that few of points.

Last where we left off.

Rules of the Game 12.7.14 6th ed

Last time I made one of these posts was about two months ago.  Damn, I'm slacken.

Canoptek Wraiths fighting Plague Bearers.  Some of the wraiths are disguised as destroyers.

12.7.14 1850 Necrons vs Chaos Daemons (Shawn's)

First BatRep, battle report, of 6th ed.  Yeah, my Necrons are fighting daemons again.  This time it's Shawn's daemons not Bryans.

That's right one Wraith vs two Plague Bearers, five slaanesh steeds and Skarbrand.  I feel great!

You are the Inspiration!

Yes, you!  You have been playing 40k or Fantasy for a week or a month, hell even like me since 91'.

You are the Inspiration.

You're at a FLGS, Friendly Local Gaming Store, or at a buddies place, even your own, and there's a new gamer to 40k or Fantasy.  They look at your models and marvel at your work.  Poor or Great.  Clean or ugly.  A new player is amazed at your work.  You are the inspiration for them for the game, modelling or painting!

Yes, Shawn, you are.

12.7.12 Wave Serpent 1 of 2

Done with the first Eldar vehicle.  Had a choice:  call it a night and blog or jump right into the next model.  Tallarns voice went through my head.  " [sic] Model, paint, game then blog.  You can mix up the first three however you want make sure blog is always last.  Never lose sight of the goal."  So I followed the advice and grabbed the next vehicle.  Wave Serpent.  Shawn has two of these.  I don't have any.  This is the model that is stopping me from playing my Eldar again.  I have A Lot of Eldar.  I certainly don't want to buy models just to play them again.

12.7.12 Fire Prism Completed

Last where we left off with our intrepid band of adventurers <insert clown/circus music here>.

12.7.11 Eldar Fire Prism

Back from CON and finally able to put in some time in Shawn's Eldar.  Where we left off.

CONvergence 2012! Happy 4th.

Happy 4th, 40k'ers.  I'll most likely be sleeping in or at Double Tree in Bloomington, MN while you're reading this.

I'm in here somewhere.  Much like Waldo.  Can you find me?

First of many Eldar to paint: Eldar Fire Prism

Very proud of myself.  Didn't succumb the gentle, seductive arms of Morpheus.  Started a little bit later than I wanted on my first commission model.  Hell, getting an army out of painting an army for an awesome buddy of mine Shawn is one hell of a motivator.  Dylan, buddy from work, said he has faith in me.  As he said about my painting models "you're a machine."  Though not much of a machine lately.  Damn you pesky undesired naps.  I'll get you yet.  /shakes fist

7.2 Canoptek Spyders

Damn.  Last time I worked on these guys was a week ago 6.21.  Feel like I'm getting back into my rhythm.  Perhaps my crazy naps are going away.  Then I focus on getting my 40k modelling/painting act together.

Introducing Silver Gargoyle Productions

Thought my first commission job would be a Land Raider I would paint in Deathwing colours and ebay it.  As they say "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans."

A 40k buddy had a thought of me painting a couple of his models.  That is what he told me yesterday on the phone.  So I met him at Fantasy Flight to talk about the couple of models he wants me to paint.  Turns out he wants me to paint his Eldar.  Not a couple of models but about 3000 pts of Eldar.
